Plant Manager Warner Robbins, GA, USA Title: Plant Manager Department: Gases-Operations Reports to: Operations Manager Direct Reports: Assistant Plant Manager, Operators, Maintenance, Admin personnel Date: December 5, 2017 The Facility: A new UIG owned and operated cryogenic air separation plant providing oxygen to an adjacent customer facility through a short local pipeline. The plant also produces liquid products for pipeline supply backup and for distribution to the medical and industrial markets. It includes cryogenic product storage, vaporization, loading and unloading facilities. Purpose of the job: The Plant Manager will be responsible for overall management of site operation activities. Duties include management of production rates and product quality parameters, on-stream performance, operating budget, and achievement of safety and environmental objectives. The Plant Manager will be hired in advance of initial plant startup and will play a key role in local staffing decisions and commissioning and startup of the new facility. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Management of local operations employee commissioning and startup activities. Plant staffing, training and development. Implementation and maintenance of asset management systems including spare parts, preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance. Maintenance of environmental, safety, quality assurance, and FDA compliance systems and programs. Continuing communication with customers to coordinate plant production and maintenance activities to meet customer needs and availability guarantees. Facility budgeting, accounting and payroll Evaluation of current process conditions and implementation of plant loading plans. Monitoring and process evaluation of future on-site facilities. Performing and/or scheduling maintenance of instrumentation, electrical systems, compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and other plant equipment. 24 hour on-call responsibility. Continuous improvement of all applicable safety, environmental, quality and compliance programs Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Science in Engineering [ME, EE or ChemE] or equivalent education and experience in an air separation or closely related industry. Special Skill Qualifications: Air Separation An advanced understanding of cryogenic air separation and associated technologies is preferred Instrumentation and Electrical - Candidate must understand electrical principals in practical situations involving the operation and repair of complex electrical devices. Mechanical aptitude - Candidate must possess basic skills in mechanical system maintenance. Maintenance Programs - Candidate must be familiar with implementation and ongoing review of maintenance programs and asset management tools, including scheduling and procurement of parts and services for routine operations and periodic maintenance activities. Computer Programs- Candidate must have the ability to use the various software systems used at an UIGI air separation plant, including, but not limited to; MS Office suite. Note: Additional skills in standard automation software, control system programming, and human machine interface (HMI) a plus. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram or schedule form. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and color vision and ability to adjust focus. The ability to hear abnormal equipment noise. The ability to safely climb to ladders and platforms, including cold box ladders to heights of greater than 120 feet.
